Buddy's History

Buddy’s opened its doors April of 2016 and was founded by our CEO and owner, Myles Kahn. Buddy’s is named after Kahn’s grandfather, Buddy Harlowe. Buddy was a high-profile band leader at The Latin Quarter - one of New York City’s iconic nightclubs during the prohibition era and beyond. Buddy’s celebrates the nexus between music and cannabis cultures. In its design, operations, and activities.

Buddy's Vibe

Buddy’s vibe reflects its Prohibition Era and Art Deco inspiration. You will often find us hosting educational events about the prohibition and subsequent legalization of marijuana among other topics. We have hosted everything from open mic nights to music legends. We love when a customer takes out one of the many instruments on display and starts jamming, often times one of our budtenders will join in. Make sure to take a picture with #BuddysMural when you stop in. It is an iconic work by Emily @art.of.july featuring portraits of famous musical pot advocates: Willie Nelson, Bob Marley, Jerry Garcia, and Louis Armstrong.

Buddy's Aim

Buddy’s mission is to build community, educate, and give back to the local community. Check out Buddy’s events calendar to see all the different ways we are bringing the community together. Buddy’s has recently launched a series of educational events for senior citizens, veterans, and everyday people to learn more about CBD, THC, and have their questions answered by doctors, our medical consultants, and other experts in the field. Buddy’s proudly supports veterans through our charity partner:
The Invictus Foundation
